For several lifetimes Miss O has been fascinated and intrigued by the unknown powers of the Universe. I believe that each of us has the capacity to communicate with, to tap into, a Force greater than ourselves, the skill only needs to be developed.
When I was a budding Classics Major of eleven-years-old, I begged my father to take me to Greece to absorb the historical ambiance of "the Ancients". I argued that it was essential for my intellectual and spiritual growth."But Dad, 5th century Athens was the cradle of Western civilization." (Beware the tween who possesses a modicum of information.) The most anticipated part of the trip was a visit to the Oracle of Delphi which did not disappoint. There was no Oracle on duty inhaling vapors and speaking in tongues, but the whole place had an extremely mystical vibe and resonated with me on another level.
Twenty-years later my father would shake his head and ask: "Do you remember when we drove across the width of Greece in one afternoon so you could visit Delphi?" "Yes, Dad, that was really important to me. Thank you." He would nod sagely as if to say, "yep, your fate as a channeler of spirits, as a communer with the Great Beyond was pretty much sealed that day." I won't bore you with my subsequent study of the North Node or planetary quincunxes or the far-reaching vision of my Third Eye, let's just say I am plugged into the Universe. I have psychic dreams about loved ones on a weekly basis and I am sensitive to tremors in the Force. Lucky for you, my antennae are finely tuned to planetary shifts.
So here we are on the cusp of a new year and Miss O is on hand to help you decipher some cosmic goings-on. Darlings, the planet Pluto is in transit, technically Pluto conjuncts the Sun. What does this mean for you? It means this is your chance to take out the trash. Big time. Fortuitously this Pluto conjunct coincides with the end of the year when we should all be cleaning house anyway.
Darlings, let me break it down for you. This is the moment for you to adios any toxic friends. When I say adios, I mean Delete. The End. If there are obstructions in your life, be it a dead-end, soul-crushing job, your living situation, a relationship: professional, romantic, it's complicated (!) do something to change them. Or get rid of them completely. Maybe you are engaging in behavior that is damaging to yourself. Maybe you are caught in a loop of negative self-talk. Stop it. Now. Yes, it may feel terrifying, but this is your chance for great transformation. You will feel vulnerable, you may think you have suffered a loss, it may even be difficult to recognize this obstacle blocking your path, but on the other side lies empowerment, growth, and evolution.
You are not alone in this dirty work. I am, as we speak, distancing myself from some rubbish in my life. Let me tell you, with each step away I feel stronger and more like the authentic me.
2011 was a rocky year for everyone, let's start 2012 with a clean slate, ready to kick some ass.

A New Hope
Welcome to Miss O's Diary (part deux)!
For those of you joining us for the first time, enjoy the ride. For those loyal readers rubbing their eyes in disbelief, your flattery, cajoling, threats, and bribery have been appreciated.
Why Part Deux? Frankly my Executive Secretary could not figure out the technological intricacies of our former web home, and this new format is more user/Miss O-friendly. Also, we have a fair number of "older" readers who complained that the color-text contrast was challenging to their eyesight.
The mission of Miss O's Diary is to educate, to empower, and to entertain. Sometimes that education is the in the form of tough love. Sometimes empowerment comes after calling someone out for bad behavior. Sometimes you will hear about heinous stories ripped from my Newsfeed. Of course, the names have been changed...when I feel like it. Sometimes, oftentimes, you will be entertained by glimpses of life on Planet Miss O.
Miss O is, above all, a friend to those in need. In need of fashion advice, etiquette instruction, travel tips, romantic counseling, cosmic guidance. Miss O is your big sister, your style consultant, your wise auntie, your trusted confidante, your psychic friend, your gal pal who cares so much she is obligated to tell you that you're dating a douche bag.
So read on fabulous Darlings. Miss O is here to tell it like it is!
